Privacy policy

Young Enterprise (hereinafter referred to as “we”) respect the privacy of our online visitors, and the schools, charities, organisations and individual participants entering the Fiver Challenge and recognise the importance of protecting your personal information. We have therefore adopted a corporate wide Online Privacy Policy that guides how we collect, store and use the information you provide us when you visit our website or participate in the Fiver Challenge.

What and how information is collected on online visitors
We may request and collect information from our online visitors on a voluntary basis and only during: Contact Us email, email relating to a job vacancy. The requested information may include personal identifying information such as your name, e-mail address, phone number, fax number, place of work etc.

What and how information is collected for the Fiver Challenge
On registration we collect details including the name and address of the school, charity or organisation that is entering participants and the name, telephone number and email address of the person supervising the participants from that school, charity or organisation.

During the Fiver Challenge we may also collect the name, age and town of residence of each participant, and photographs or videos of the participants taking part in the Fiver Challenge.

Information usage and distribution
The information you provide us may be shared with third-party vendors to provide you feedback on technical support or customer service enquiries. Any such third-party vendors have agreed to maintain the confidentiality and security of the information we share with them.  We may share your information with our group companies (including, without limit, Young Enterprise Trading Limited) including for the purpose of administering and operating the Fiver Challenge.

We use the information collected in connection with the Fiver Challenge in the following ways:
•    to process your registration to participate in the Fiver Challenge;
•    to verify the school’s, charity’s or organisation’s identity;
•    to support your and the participants’ participation in the Fiver Challenge; 
•    to promote the Fiver Challenge to participating schools, charities or organisations;
•    for collection of the funds provided by each school, charity or organisation; 
•    for audit purposes, research and statistical analysis; 
•    to prevent fraud and money laundering; 
•    to notify participating schools, charities or organisations of other Young Enterprise schemes, products and services which might be of interest to them by email or post; and
•    to notify participating schools, charities or organisations about  Virgin Money’s educational programme Make £5 Grow.

You can obtain a copy of the information we hold about you (for a fee) by writing to us at Fiver Challenge, Young Enterprise, Yeoman House, Sekforde Street, London, EC1R 0HF.  You also have the right to have any inaccuracies deleted or corrected.

Visitors to our websites
When someone visits our site, we collect non-personally identifiable information. This information is collected via Google Analytics and we do this to find out statistical information including visitor numbers, traffic sources and content access information. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our site.

We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source. In all circumstances where we DO collect personally identifiable information, we will explain what we intend to do with it.

Use of cookies by Fiver Challenge
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive containing information about you as the user. Once you close your browser, the cookie is deactivated. You have the right to refuse our use of cookies containing information about you on your hard drive. The table below explains the cookies we use and why.

If for any reason you wish to access, review, correct or delete the personal information collected about you, you may do so online at http://www.fiverchallenge.org.uk.  You must be able to provide your name and e-mail address. Once identified, we will be happy to review, update or remove your information as appropriate.
